Web Developer
We are seeking a local, individual freelance web developer who has experience building websites within CMSs such as Joomla!, Drupal, Plone and Wordpress. Experience writing valid HTML / XHTML / CSS, and knowledge and use of WCAG / Section 508 is required. Experience with template customization on Joomla! and others is a must. Willingness to incorporate basic principles of SEO according to the specifications of the project also required. Page slicing in Photoshop is very helpful. Additionally, we would like someone who has built and created e-commerce sites using DigiShop products, as well as setting up secure certificates, payment gateways, etc. This may be for one particular project, but it can lead to many other projects. Many of our clients are socially conscious non-profits and green businesses, if you look forward to working for causes and environmentally conscious companies, please read on.
This is a contract position only; if you have or are seeking a full-time job, this is not the position for you. The ideal candidate is a local, freelance web developer and can work both on-site and off-site. You should be available for both creative and client meetings during normal business hours. Interactive Designer
We are seeking a freelance web designer to work on a few projects and possibly on a continuing basis. The ideal candidate would work on-site and occasionally from their home studio, and would be available as needed, and you may occasionally you may be asked to attend client and brainstorming meetings at our Berkeley studio and around the Bay Area. We are seeking a designer who loves to work independently, has a complete Mac OSX computer setup and is eager to put their skills to work for an eco-friendly, creative company. Ideally, you have at least two year's worth of experience designing websites, have completed your graphic design or interactive design degree and are currently seeking freelance over full-time employment. You must own and be very adept in Dreamweaver, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator; web design and slicing of web pages is essential, and CSS skills are a plus! Your own quality scanner, color printer, reliable broadband web connection, and a can-do attitude is always helpful.

Design Intern
If you're looking for a part-time internship that provides an opportunity for learning, growth, a future position, experience and fun, Green-Certified creative studio Conscious Creative may be looking for you! This position is unpaid, though we will cover meals and travel-related expenses from the immediate Bay Area. Duties primarily involve web and print production work with opportunities for design work too. You may also be asked to get lunch, answer phones, and run errands (so it's helpful that you have access to a vehicle, or be able to drive a stick-shift). The ideal candidate is a graphic design major who has some design experience and is eager to learn more about graphic and website design and who wants to put their new skills to work for an eco-friendly, creative company. You should have at least two years of formal art school training in graphic/web design, and you must be proficient in the Mac platform for InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop, and competent in Illustrator. Speed, attention to detail, initiative, reliability, and accuracy are key! The ideal candidate would be available three days a week, 10-16 hours per week, and your schedule could be flexible. The internship would be a minimum three-month commitment, with an evalution for an extension or a position.
