Branding

From discovery to delivery, we’ve got you covered.

Every company has a story. When building a brand (and subsequently, messaging) for your company, it’s important to consider what you and your team bring to it, what your needs/wants are from the company, and ultimately how you want to be perceived in the market. This is your brand’s “story.” We are experts at helping you tell your story. Plus, you’ll have fun in the process!

Step 1: Discovery Period

We dig deep into your current brand, website, and marketing materials to uncover how you are being perceived in the market, who your competitors are, and where you have opportunities to increase brand value and loyalty. Through this process, we customize a brand interview that is specific to the needs of your organization.

Step 2: Branding Interview

We will ask you and your team a series of questions and take you through brand exercises that will help us find your brand voice, tone, and message of your organizations offering. We work with you to discover not only where you are now as a company, but where you want your brand and your organization to be in the years to come.

Step 3: Brand Platform

A well-designed brand strategy not only tell your story but also bring your customers closer to you, increasing brand loyalty and band relevance in the lives of your audience. Based on our discovery phase and branding interview, we produce a Branding Platform document with provides guidelines for voice, tone, personality, primary and secondary audience definition, differentiating vocabulary, brand messages, and positioning message. This document is an average of 5-7 pages long and can be used as a foundation for all creative projects moving forward, including web design and identity.

Step 4: Editorial Guidelines

Based on the brand platform, we create editorial guidelines, which can be considered a creative brief giving direction for all copy. Using the platforms as a foundation, we will define the purpose, message, tone, word count, audience, and refresh rate for each section of your newsletter, brochure, website, marketing campaign, etc. Guidelines are particularly valuable for recurring projects like monthly or quarterly newsletters. The guidelines can then be handed off to any copywriter or internal writer as a set standard for delivering copy.

Step 5: Copywriting/Copyediting

We offer copywriting and copyediting services in house with writers and editors who together hold decades of experience in a wealth of fields and disciplines. We also work with organizations who choose to create their own copy. In this case, we act as the editor to ensure that all content on websites or printed materials reflects the brand values and messages that we have established together. This process is extremely effective for reducing rewrites and making sure that the first draft of a copydeck is very close to a finished product.
